Custom CRM Build
Custom CRM for Relie
A custom CRM and ops dashboard for a beauty-services marketplace, built on the Supabase they already paid for. It replaced $1,500+/month of software and about a day a week of admin.
A launch list, and no way to work it.
Relie needed to turn a 4,595-name Victorian launch list into active beauty providers, then keep those providers running, Nothing off the shelf fit, and nothing could work with their existing data.
- 4,595 leads sitting in a spreadsheet with no way to segment, work, or track them.
- No sales pipeline to move a prospect from lead to onboarded provider.
- Email and SMS outreach meant juggling separate tools, with real Spam Act compliance risk.
- Provider credentials and booking disputes were reviewed by hand across the database, with no audit trail.
- A generic CRM couldn't read their Supabase data or match their exact workflow, and would lock them in.
We’d normally talk a business out of building its own CRM. Relie is the case where it holds up: four subscriptions patching one gap, per-seat fees on a team about to grow, and a marketplace model no vendor handles properly. The Supabase was already paid for. Building on it cost less than the second year of the software it replaced.
One dashboard, on their own stack.
The system, module by module.
Contacts
The 4,595-lead launch list, imported and deduped by email, with a record of where each person's consent came from. It's searchable and filterable by segment and status, with a full timeline per contact and CSV export.
Pipeline
A drag-and-drop kanban that moves each prospect from lead to onboarded provider through stages the team defined.
Campaigns
Email (Resend) and SMS (ClickSend) campaigns sent straight from the dashboard, with open, click and reply tracking built in.
Tasks
Follow-up reminders mean no prospect falls through, and logging a reply creates the next task on its own.
Analytics
Live P&L, a conversion funnel by segment, and campaign ROI, pulled from Stripe and the pipeline. Nobody exports anything by hand.
Review desk
Provider credentials and booking disputes land in a single queue. Approving or rejecting one writes back to the Relie app and records an audit trail.
Built once, owned forever.
Off the shelf, this is four subscriptions: a CRM, an email platform, an SMS tool and a reporting add-on. Every one of them climbs with each new contact and each new seat. Relie runs the lot on the Supabase they already pay for. The manual list-wrangling, the copy-paste between tools and the hand-built reports are gone, and the system gets cheaper per user as they grow.
Compliant and owned, by design.
Their data, their stack
It's built on Relie's own Supabase project, so they own the code, the data and the accounts. No third-party CRM, no lock-in, no per-seat fees, and no bill that balloons as the contact list and team grow.
Spam Act 2003, enforced
Every message carries a business identifier and a working unsubscribe, and suppressions (unsubscribe, bounce, complaint, STOP) are checked before every send.
Admin-only by default
Access is locked down with row-level security (database rules that decide who can read each record), so only admin accounts can see the queue, the contacts or the numbers.
Room to grow
It's structured so an AI review agent can be added later to recommend credential approvals and flag disputes. Anything that moves money stays with a person.
What we built it with.
What the client said.
“Off the shelf we'd have been paying for a CRM, an email platform, an SMS tool and a reporting add-on, easily fifteen hundred a month before we'd signed a single provider, and only going up. Better Automations built the lot on the Supabase we already had. It's saved us the subscriptions and about a day a week of manual work, and it gets cheaper as we grow, not more expensive. Best money we've spent.”
Got a process that looks like this?
A couple of lines is enough. It goes straight to Aidan, not a sales team, and if it isn’t worth building he’ll tell you.
- You deal with Aidan directly, not a sales team.
- A straight answer on whether it's worth building, and what it'd cost.
- You own everything we build. No lock-in and no per-seat fees.
Thanks, we've got it.
It's gone to Aidan, not a shared inbox or a sales team. If it's urgent, call 0415 525 006.
